The bowl is the most intimidating part of the skatepark, especially as a beginner. There is an invisible wall around it, and taking the leap can be scary for beginners.

When you go into the bowl, you go deeper into the ground, but actually you are standing on a pedestal. Skating in the bowl means people will look at you and your tricks. You are a spectacle in the bowl.

One thing we noticed was that skaters do the same tricks all over again. The curves of the skatepark direct the body. The bowl gives skaters limitations of their movement, but also gives them more possibilities than skating on a flat surface.
